Not wishing to incite a riot, but have you heard that Pies Over Cakes will feature the season's FIRST FRESH PICKED CHERRY PIE this weekend at the West End Farmer's Market?

The rumors are true, friends. Come out early, we'll have 5s and 9s made with sweet cherries from AgriBerry Farm! 

The Strawberry season is coming to an end, sadly, but Cherry is there to comfort you in your time of need.

We'll also have Vegetarian Pot Pie for you veggie lovers, with asparagus, zucchini and squash this week. We're cooking up something special in the savory department too, as always. Last week the Eggplant Parmesan sold like crazy! Thanks to everyone that came out in the heat yesterday.

Don't forget to put in your requests on the website or via email. I can do large Veg Pot Pies, hold a cherry pie for you, or even make you something special!

Okay friends, despite how excited I am to share these yummy pies with you, the LAST time I went out in weather like this, I lost a tent and $60 worth of merchandise. Unless the weather miraculously clears up, Pies Over Cakes will have to regretfully cancel its Tuesday and Wednesday market appearances.

Pies Over Cakes had a great day at the market today, just wanted to catch you up on what to expect at the Byrd House Market on Tuesday, and the Wednesday and Saturday West End Markets coming up next week. 

As always, we'll be serving up apple pies made with ORGANIC Granny Smith and Gala apples. Strawberries are still looking abundant, so expect to see more tarts and pies. Look for a special NEW sweet pie coming up this week... ;)

Remember to send in an order if you'd like a Strawberry Rhubarb or Mixed Berry pie, I won't be bringing those again unless requested.

On the savory side, take home dinner with our Vegetarian Pot Pie, chock full of fresh, local, and organic vegetables, like ASPARAGUS, CELERY, CARROT, and EDAMAME. We'll also have another savory pie, something yummy with LOCAL EGGPLANT.

If the weather is hot like it was today, we'll be serving up pie by the slice with all-natural vanilla bean ice cream.

 

Come early, shop around, and don't forget to grab one of the best hand-crafted loca-vore pies in Richmond!

This Saturday Pies Over Cakes will be at the West End Farmer's Market, 8 am till noon!

Come get your hands on our delicious Double Crust Apple Pie, Sweet Strawberry Tarts, or try a southern tradition - Lemon Chess Pie.

And of course, don't forget to pick up a Vegetarian Pot Pie for dinner. This week we're featuring local asparagus and onion, organic potatoes and carrots, all in our spicy savory crust!
